Shannon Mehls

Vice President of ADvisor Growth

Shannon Mehls is the Vice President of Advisor Growth and a Registered Principal at Preferred Partners.  She has over 20 years of service in the financial services industry, fourteen in a supervisory role. Shannon is also the founder of Ohrenda, a fellow full-service Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ) family that joined Preferred Partners in July 2025. Since joining Cambridge Investment Research’s family of OSJ team, she has qualified for the Circle of Excellence Award every year since its inception.

Shannon has a Bachelor’s degree in finance and holds her Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses. She began as a Registered Administrator and she credits her passion for education and development for quickly moving into a supervisory role. She is a problem solver and advocate by nature, bringing our Advisors support while maintaining their independence and keeping them compliant. Ever the student, she understands there is still a lot more to learn!

When she’s not busy connecting with Preferred Partners advisors, Shannon thoroughly enjoys spending time with her husband and their family. Her two sons sacrificially serve in the Armed Forces, one in the Army and another in the Air Force. Her grandson just moved back to Shannon’s hometown—and grandbaby #2 is on the way! Shannon and her husband previously served with their local Fish & Wildlife fire department, where they oversaw controlled burns to help with wildfire mitigation. In the small amount of her remaining free time, Shannon loves to read, watch movies, take walks in the woods, ride bikes, and enjoy the outdoors as much as possible.
