Meet John Fenwick, also known as “White Rhino,” the Founder and President of Preferred Partners – one of the largest OSJs in collaboration with Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. As a Registered Principal with CLU® and a ChFC® designation under his belt, he is a powerhouse in the financial industry.

With his rhino-like strength and determination, John began his career as a national brokerage director at Aetna, where he noticed independent agents struggling to grow due to isolation. He envisioned a collaborative environment where advisors could thrive and put his ideas into action by creating his own branch in 1998. Within just six months, Preferred Partners became the largest branch of his then-broker dealer.

John’s success can be attributed to his expert team, who possess industry knowledge and expertise that’s unmatched. Just like a rhino surrounded by its herd, John’s philosophy is to surround himself with the best in the business, which has helped drive the success of Preferred Partners and its family of advisors.

Born in Fort Collins, CO, and raised in Denver, John earned an engineering degree with a minor in economics from Colorado State University. He then proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 9 years. In addition, John has served as the former President and Chair of the International Association for Financial Planning.
